Foreman H. Kazimir
Employee #395
"Maintenance is the heartbeat of this place. If something's broken, jammed, leaking, or just acting up, it's on us to fix it. Lights, pipes, machines, and even the weird stuff no one else wants to touch - that's our day-to-day.
We've got teams for repairs, fire, infrastructure, logistics, mopping, and more, but at the end of the day, it's all Maintenance, and we somewhat manage to make everything run smoothly.
So if you want to contribute, be ready to actually care about keeping this place from falling apart."
Maintenance works through existing on-site systems, such as the electrical grid, telecommunications, logistics, or weather episodes, and roleplayed events, like repairing a simple coffee machine, up to inspecting facility infrastructure during storm hazard. Technicians perform repairs, inspections, construction projects (i.e. installations) , and sustain equipment (e.g. refueling, restocking machines.)
Apprenticeship & Technician Qualification
Maintenance Personnel are trained and competent in Construction (Carpentry, Masonry), Plumbing, Welding, and Instrumentation, and can perform all tasks related to these fields. They create and complete unique roleplay scenarios and scenes. Proficiency is demonstrated through Technician Qualification, earned during Apprenticeship. It is required to advance past it.
QualificationsÂ
Technicians can specialize in Qualifications such as Electricity, Electronics & IT, HVAC, or Pest Control, to contribute to more complex systems. A senior, specialized Technician may be responsible for the oversight of a single system on-site, while also instructing other personnel.
During Shifts, Technician work both independently and in teams, adapting to the needs of the facility and its personnel. Unlike other departments that rely heavily on collective operations, Technicians are set to work on their own (or in pairs with an Apprenticeship). Usually, a Schedule is set weekly to outline routine operations, inspections, or training sessions.
Safety Procedures
All work must be carried out through established Safety Procedures, which are enforced In-Character - and yes, we have our own Health & Safety Inspectors, so you'd better watch out. This involves having to wear helmets, goggles, or kneepads, which allow for nice character customization.
Subdepartments
Technicians can join Subdepartments such as the Damage Control Team, the facility's on-site "Fire Department", or Containment Control, an office of Technicians and Engineers responsible for the containment and classification of Anomalies (i.e. Containment Controllers).
The department is run by Engineers and the Foreman, who direct operations, develop maintenance policies, and plan and manage resources. They design new protocols, systems, and duties to facilitate departmental operations. They also plan future facility builds and maintenance systems, which in turn affect lore and other departments.
Not into the technical stuff but still want to be part of the team? Simply apply to become a Janitor!
The Maintenance Department is considered one of the easiest department.
You can either be a Janitor, a simple yet fun job which requires no knowledge where you will be asked to clean floors or maintain trash bins.
Or be a Technician, a job that requires role that requires common technical thinking, creativity, and an understanding of on-site systems. These skills can be easily learned in the field through mentorship, and passing qualifications.
It is ideal for players who enjoy socializing, light roleplay, or working both alone and as a team.
It is recommended for new BEXCO players, who can easily discover its universe through this department and participate in various on-site activities.
